Dell has previewed the UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U3425WE), one of two UltraSharp monitors introduced today alongside a 40-inch variant. As the name suggests, the U3425WE combines, among other things, a 34-inch curved display with Thunderbolt connectivity. In the first case, Dell claims that it is “the first 34-inch monitor to be certified for 5-star eye comfort,” a statement we detailed in our introductory article on the UltraSharp U2724D and UltraSharp U2724DE.
In addition, the U3425WE combines a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels (WQHD) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, compared to 60 Hz in previous models. Additionally, Dell's decision to include an IPS Black panel allows the monitor to achieve a 2000:1 contrast ratio with 100% sRGB and 100% Rec color space coverage. 709 and 98% display P3/DCI-P3. Dell also states that the U3425WE display has the following ports:
- 1x 2.5 Gigabit RJ45
- 1 3.5mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1x HDMI 2.1 FRL
- 1x Thunderbolt 4 (90W power supply)
- 5x USB Type-A
- 4x USB Type-C (15W power supply/10Gbps)
Additionally, the U3425WE supports pan, tilt and height adjustments (150 mm) via its integrated stand, as well as Auto KVM and Network KVM functionality with two devices connected simultaneously. The U3425WE will be available worldwide starting February 27th. Currently, Dell has only confirmed Canadian and US pricing, set at $1,019.99 and $1,399.99 Canadian, respectively. Unfortunately, prices for other regions are not yet known.
