Delta Goodrem gets her big break in the United States when she gets a new gig with the Backstreet Boys: “I’m incredibly excited!”

Delta Goodrem landed the gig of a lifetime.

The Australian pop star announced on Saturday that she will be supporting legendary ’90s boy band The Backstreet Boys on their DNA Word tour of North America.

‘OMG!! I’m joining the legendary @backstreetboys this summer on their #DNAWorldTour2022 in the US starting tomorrow night @northislandamp in Chula Vista,” she wrote on Instagram, adding, “I’m beyond excited!!! Let’s go! See you there.”

The news was also shared on the social media pages of the group The Backstreet Boys.

Delta recently wrapped up her Bridge Over Troubled Dreams Australian tour and received praise for the set she performed at the Bottle Rock Festival last week.

The Australian hitmaker previously opened for Andrea Bocelli and Michael Bolton in the US, but this will mark her first time completing a full tour of the country.

The Backstreet Boys, meanwhile, are set to bring their DNA world tour to Australia in February next year after twice postponing it due to the pandemic.

Their album “Over Troubled Dreams” reached number one on the ARIA charts in May last year.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph about the success, the singer said when she received the news: “I burst into tears, tears of joy”.

She added, “You’re not the new artist, you’ve been at this for a while, but for this record to be recognized and to be a musician and an artist and then to connect people with the work is just awesome.”

Delta, who played Nina Tucker in Neighbors, also credited her time on the popular TV show amid her shocking axe.

“It truly is the end of an era… the show was a true school of industry for so many people, including mine!” she wrote on Instagram.

She added, “The moment Nina sang ‘Born To Try’ for the first time stayed with me forever, the beginning of everything…”
