According to the Mayo Clinic, vasculitis involves the inflammation of the blood vessels that causes the walls to thicken, reducing the width of the passageway through the vessel.

Damage to organs and tissues can occur if blood flow is restricted. There are many types of vasculitis, and most of them are rare.

According to Kutcher, his harrowing experience with vasculitis, while scary, gave him a newfound appreciation for his health and senses, explaining that he never really realized how important they were until he lost them.

“You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone,” the human rights activist admitted.

The condition that may have cost Ashton Kutcher his sight: what is vasculitis and how is it treated?

  • Vasculitis, sometimes referred to as angiitis or arteritis, are conditions that cause a person’s blood vessels to become inflamed
  • Nearly 230,000 Americans suffer from some form of vasculitis
  • There are a few possible causes, including an autoimmune condition, allergic reactions, or some type of infection
  • Types of vasculitis are divided into three categories, large, medium and small. The distinction is based on the size of the inflamed vessels
  • Typical symptoms are fever, fatigue, muscle pain and severe weight loss
  • In the most severe cases, an aneurysm or even a blood vessel can burst. Both cases can prove fatal
  • It can also lead to tissue death when a vessel becomes so inflamed that it blocks blood flow to a part of the body
  • In some cases, the vasculitis resolves on its own
  • Common treatments include steroid therapy, which fights inflammation

An adorable black dog tried to get in on the action.

The game got pretty intense when Kutcher – a former high school assistant football coach – was spotted lying on the sand while triumphantly raising the ball in the air to prove he’d made a difficult catch.

In the preview clip of Kutcher’s upcoming appearance on Gryll’s latest show, he didn’t go into detail about his vasculitis treatment process, but the Mayo Clinic states that treatment of the condition typically “focuses on controlling inflammation and treating any underlying conditions.” trigger vasculitis”.

The most commonly prescribed medications for vasculitis patients are corticosteroids, which are used to control inflammation in the blood vessels.
