Meanwhile, Demi has been hard at work this month promoting her appearance on the new series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, which premieres on January 31st.

It is the second season of the anthology television series Feud, created by Ryan Murphy for FX, which debuted in 2017.

The “Swans” were the New York socialites who welcomed author Truman Capote into their high-profile circles but ruthlessly jettisoned him when he aired their dirty laundry in public.

Demi plays Ann “Bang-Bang” Woodward, a real-life showgirl, model and radio actress who became an infamous Manhattan socialite and died in 1975 at the age of 59.

Ann became a prominent and controversial figure in New York high society after marrying banking heir William Woodward Jr., with whom she had two sons, William Woodward III and James Woodward.

After they both had affairs, he asked for a divorce in 1947 and she refused before shooting him in 1955.

She claimed she mistook William for a burglar, but was suspected of murder and given the nickname “Bang Bang”.

She was not charged in the shooting and a grand jury ruled the event an accident.

But the circumstances of her husband's death led to Ann being banished from high society.

In 1975, Truman published excerpts from an unfinished novel, Answers to Prayers, about a woman accused of murdering her husband, who everyone thought was Ann.

Shortly before the stories were to be published in Esquire, she killed herself by taking cyanide.

Subsequently, her two sons tragically committed suicide, James in 1976 and William in 1999.

Demi stars as Truman in the series alongside Naomi Watts, Molly Ringwald, Calista Flockhart, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny and Tom Hollander.
