During an appearance on the show Good morning America On Wednesday (January 31, 24), Demi Moore opened up about her ex-husband's battle with dementia.

“I think he’s doing really well under the circumstances,” Demi Moore, 61, said of the “Die Hard” star. “What I will share is what I tell my children: it is important to meet them where they are and not to cling to what is no longer, but to what exists today. Because there is a lot of beauty, sweetness, love and joy in all of this. »
The Ghost star and Bruce Willis, 68, married in 1987 but separated in 2000. The couple – who have remained close since their divorce – have three daughters, Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 29. Bruce Willis and Emma Heming, whom he married in 2009, have two children, Mabel (11) and Evelyn (9).
Demi Moore's comments come a day after her appearance on Radio Andy Cohen, where she discussed what she would say to family members of people with dementia. “I think the most important thing I can say is that you have to meet them where they are. When you let go of who they were, or what you think they (should have been), or even what you wished they were, then you can truly stay in the present and enjoy the joy and love that exists for is present for everything that they are, and not for everything that they are not. »
The Armageddon star's family announced in March 2022 that he suffered from aphasia. Almost a year later, Bruce Willis' family announced that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
