Killed by a terrible disease, aged just 51. This is the tragic fate of Marco Zucchi: he died in the last few days after battling a serious illness. An insidious enemy that he faced without ever losing his smile and hope, but unfortunately failed to defeat despite the arduous struggle. His condition has worsened in recent days and the doctors’ efforts have not paid off.
A loving husband and caring father is how his friends and the many people who have gathered around his wife and three small children describe him during these hours. The news of his early death quickly spread not only in San Gervasio Bresciano, a town where the man lived with his family, but also in numerous Bassa communities. As a football fan, he had worked as a massage therapist and physical therapist with many teams in our province and beyond. Many companies – from Gsd Pralboino to Verolese 1911 – have remembered him with a post on social media.

From 2014 to 2016, Zucchi was a masseur for the Ac Crema 1908 first team – which plays in Serie D – who remembered him on Facebook as follows:
“Marco left a positive and indelible memory thanks to his attentive and competent professionalism, his loyal and helpful temperament, his sympathy and passion for the sport we all love. The whole nerobianca family, made up of players and young women and from the young people of the youth sector, the coach, the manager, the fans, the president Enrico Zucchi and the members of the board, he gathers around Marco’s loved ones, starting with his wife and his three children, our closeness with great sadness but also with the awareness that to have been fortunate to have met Marco, a man and professional of immense value that we will always carry in our hearts”.
Dozens of people are expected to attend the funeral, which will be celebrated on Wednesday September 7th at 4pm in the parish church of San Gervasio Bresciano.
