Derek Hough celebrates his wife Hayley Erbert's recovery on Christmas Day. On Monday, the couple posted a photo of themselves kissing in front of their Christmas tree and wrote, “Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!”
“I rejoice in the greatest gift of all,” the caption read. “The precious gift of life and love that we share. Hold your loved ones close and cherish every moment.”
Her Christmas post is the first update the couple has shared since Hough announced his wife would be undergoing another surgery nearly two weeks after undergoing an emergency craniectomy. Hough, 38, announced on his Instagram Story that Erbert, 29, will undergo surgery “to replace a large portion of her skull that was removed during her craniectomy.”
Hough and Erbert tied the knot in August and said “I do” in front of family and friends in a redwood forest in northern California's Monterey County, People reported. Hough's publicist Susan Madore confirmed the wedding to USA TODAY. The couple began dating in 2015 after meeting on “DWTS.”
