Derek Hough is providing an update on his wife Hayley Erbert's health after she was hospitalized and required emergency brain surgery.

“Hayley is doing well,” Hough began his social media post. “Her recovery process was a true miracle.”

Last week, Erbert, a professional dancer on “Dancing with the Stars,” became “disoriented” after his performance and had to be hospitalized. She was then diagnosed with a cranial hematoma due to a ruptured blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy.

“She still has a ways to go, with another operation hopefully in a few weeks to insert a cranial implant to replace the part that was removed in the craniectomy. This returns the skull to its natural shape and protects the brain from injury.” “

Hough admitted how difficult it has been for the couple as Erbert is suffering from her serious health condition but remains in good spirits.

“But today we are filled with hope and relief as we share an update with you.”
