As a sign of the times, Desjardins Group customers can no longer use the predecessor of AccèsD, the cash book. The notebook for recording transactions will no longer exist in November after more than 120 years of use.
The presence of the leaflet, which was as old as the financial institution itself, had declined so much in ATMs over the years that the supplier who printed it announced the end of production at Desjardins.
“We have therefore decided to remove the brochures on November 19,” said Jean-Benoît Turcotti, spokesman for Desjardins.
According to the company, it still has 270,000 customers, which is 6% of its 4.5 million members.
The majority of these 270,000 people are over 70 years old and at least 33% of them are already using online services through AccèsD.
“We know that people are attached to the brochure and will support them in the transition,” adds the spokesman.
If you want to keep an eye on your daily expenses, you can view the latest transactions at any time at the ATM and even print them out on a receipt.
From November 19th, the 270,000 savings account holders will automatically be sent a paper statement.
