Desperation turns to joy for David Beckham and his son Brooklyn as Man Utd take on City in the FA Cup final

David Beckham and his son Brooklyn cut a very dismal figure after Manchester City scored within the opening 12 seconds against Man Utd in Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup final.

However, the football star’s initial desperation soon turned to joy when his former club equalized in the 33rd minute of the hard-fought game at London’s Wembley Stadium.

David, 48, jumped out of his chair after Bruno Fernandes’ goal and flapped the air with joy while Brooklyn, 24, cheered next to him.

Unfortunately, the joy of the two was short-lived, because in the second half Gündogan scored another direct hit and the score was 2:1.

The father of four, whose professional football career began when he was just 17 with Manchester United, dressed up to support his old team at the stadium.

City fans rejoiced at the incredible start – they celebrated with ‘The Poznań’ where they bounced together in the stands as their side took the lead.

However, Bruno Fernandes equalized with a penalty for United after Jack Grealish made a controversial handball decision.

Utd’s joy was short-lived, however, as City soon regained the lead thanks to Ilkay Gündogan’s second goal in the 51st minute.

If City can emerge victorious on Saturday, they will travel to Istanbul next weekend to face Inter Milan in the Champions League final. The aim is to become the first and only team since United in 1998/99 to win a treble.
