Santiago de Cuba, March 16 (ACN) Tue Province of Santiago de Cuba intensified preparations for the XVIII International Fair Expocaribe 2023scheduled to take place from June 21 to 24, at a time of great economic complexity as a result of the COVID-19 and the resurgence of United States economic, trade and financial blockade against Caribbean nation.
Speaking at a news conference, Provincial Government Development Director Madelaine Cortés said delegations from France, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Martinique, Germany and the UK, among others, had indicated their willingness to participate in the Caribbean nation’s second major trade exchange.
He said a meeting with ambassadors is planned with the aim of strengthening ties, and he said that the contract templates are ready and simplified to speed up event processes and gain agility.
He confirmed that in terms of communication, the expocaribe.cu website, the call, the commercial and the documents will be updated with the three official languages of the event: Spanish, English and French.
Cortés commented on the ongoing and constant exchanges with the new forms of non-governmental management and local development projects to dispel doubts and encourage their participation in the fair, noting positively their participation in the previous edition.
According to Omar Hernández, director of the Heredia Cultural Complex, special attention is being paid to the institution and maintenance work is being carried out to make its rooms more comfortable and to be able to serve as a venue for the big gathering.
He mentioned that efforts are being made to acquire a new elevator to contribute to mobility and access to some of the upper rooms of the Santiago Colossus.
Expocaribe provides a space to encourage foreign investment from the nation’s eastern provinces, promote exportable funds and import substitution, conduct business as part of improving the Cuban economic model, and demonstrate the professionalism and competitiveness with which commercial commitments are made between diverse communities become state and private actors.
Saving this event in 2019 provided an opportunity to showcase the supply and demand portfolio of products, services and new technologies, facilitating the identification and pooling of interests.
