.177 or .22 caliber air rifles that develop a velocity of more than 500 feet per second and are approved for small game hunting are legally regulated as firearms, as are a 30-06, a 7 MM, etc. On the other hand, it is Persons traveling at speeds of less than 500 feet per second are not required to hold a license to own or register such air rifles.
I was recently at the Canadian Tire store in Sainte-Dorothée, at the new Pro Shop hunting and fishing store. For fans there is a large selection of all kinds of products.
