Devon Levi is looking forward to his time in the American League

While the end of last season with the Buffalo Sabers was sometimes spectacular, goaltender Devon Levi has had more trouble this year in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Therefore, team management saw fit to send him to the American League (AHL) several times since the introduction of the regular calendar. That's exactly what she did on Sunday, with the goal of getting her some more playing time during the long All-Star break.

“It does not bother me [de rester longtemps dans la LAH]said Levi, whose comments were relayed by The Buffalo News. I play hockey because I love it. No matter where, I think I’ll just focus on where my feet are.”

“It’s nice to be here and keep playing, play some games and practice more. Being here right now during the NHL All-Star break is pretty beneficial. They want me to use this resource and I will soak up as much of it as I can while it lasts.”

On Wednesday, the Dollard-des-Ormeaux native was in net for the Rochester Americans, the Sabres' AHL farm club. Unfortunately, his team lost 2-1 to the Syracuse Crunch, with Levi making 16 saves in the loss.

Despite everything, American head coach Seth Appert liked his goalkeeper's performance.

“He was very solid,” he said after the meeting. He seemed controlled and calm.”

This season, the 212th overall pick in the 2020 draft played 20 games with the Sabers, compiling a 9-7-2 record, a 3.30 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage.
