Tough: The 34-year-old professional dancer struggled to contain her emotions as she chatted to Claudia Winkleman after her performance last week while holding back tears
“Last week I received news about my father’s health and I won’t go into detail about it, but it obviously affected me.”
“Being away from home and not being able to support and help your family in a time of need is a pretty difficult thing, so I struggled with that a little bit last week.”
While Dianne’s family had plans to travel to the UK for Christmas and watch her on Strictly, they said that wouldn’t be happening now.
She said she plans to return to Australia at the end of the year instead.
Dianne continued: “My dad still has a little way to go, but I have 100% confidence that he will be okay and we will all get through it together.”
She then asked fans to say “a little thought or a little prayer” to her father, which she would be “very happy about.”
The emotional star continued: “My dad is the sweetest, kindest man you will ever meet and the only thing he really wants is for me to keep going and dancing my heart out and doing what I love because that makes him absolutely proud.
“Whether I go home with a glitter ball or not, I’m still going to go home and have a hot Christmas.”

Speaking to Mirror, he said: “I could talk about Dianne all day. “She’s just a diamond – you know what, I’m falling in love with her. She’s just great. I feel very lucky.’
As well as discussing her expertise as a trainer, Bobby revealed a cheeky secret about her training – admitting that he has been known to sleep on the job.
When asked if he was a “perfectionist” during her “strenuous” training sessions, he said: “Dianne would say no because I took as many breaks as possible and slept as much as possible.” “Necessary digestion is what I call it .”
