Díaz Canel thanks that "coherence" by the Cuban musician Cándido Fabré

Cuban ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel celebrated the 30th anniversary of the founding of “Cándido Fabre and his band” and thanked the musician for his “coherence” with the regime.

“Congratulations, dear Cándido Fabré, it has been 30 years since we brought joy to our people. Thank you for your music and your cohesion. A hug,” the president posted on X, formerly Twitter.

The Cuban Institute of Music also highlighted the creation of the orchestra, very popular in the east of the island.

The popular artist has been a staunch defender of the Cuban regime throughout his artistic career, but in the last year he has not stopped expressing his dissatisfaction with the country’s pricing policies, eviction policies and the alleged irregularities of the Musical Recordings and Editions Company ( EGREM).

In June, he reported that the San Luis Department of Agriculture had “expelled” him from the country Land that he legally inherited his parents in Santiago de Cuba.

In a Facebook live stream, the artist said he received a notification from that government agency that the land now belongs to a different owner because he does not have his biological father’s last name.

He also complained about it the EGREM for not accepting a project he proposed to promote Cuban music, and in February he regretted having left outside the Salsa Festival in Havana because, in his opinion, he “sang for Fidel Castro.”

Afterwards, his questions about the excessive food prices on the island kept coming up; but he always bases his speech on a rationale in favor of the regime.

The Cuban Internet user, who identifies himself as Taoro, reminded Díaz-Canel of the “incoherence of the regime” with its artists and asked him if “prices have already fallen in the city of Cándido”; if “they no longer take away Cándido’s electricity” and if “they have already returned the lands to Cándido”.
