Dick Van Dyke was eliminated after appearing as a gnome during the season 9 premiere of The Masked Singer on Fox on Wednesday.
The 97-year-old legendary entertainer performed a hilarious rendition of When You’re Smiling by Frank Sinatra and left panelist Nicole Scherzinger, 44, in tears as he revealed his identity.
“This is the most experienced and decorated we’ve had on our show, ladies and gentlemen,” said show host Nick Cannon, 42, as Dick revealed his identity.
Nicole openly cried when Nick asked Dick what it was like to be the gnome.
“It was really dark in there. . . . I couldn’t see anything,’ said Dick.

Nick pointed out that Nicole was in tears.
“I love you so much, we love you, the whole world loves you so much. It’s an honor to have you on our show,” Nicole said as her voice cracked with emotion.
“I can’t believe you’re here, I’m trying to keep my cool. You look so gorgeous, you look so good,” Nicole gushed.
“I’m so overwhelmed,” said panelist Jenny McCarthy, 50.
“I’m 97 years old,” Dick said.
“I love Dick Van Dyke,” Nicole said.
Show panelist Ken Jeong, 53, told Dick that he was one of the reasons he got into comedy.
“You are our childhood,” Nicole said.

“Our biggest reveal ever,” said Ken.
Dick then performed one last time, treating the audience to a rendition of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from the 1964 film Mary Poppins, during which the entertainer did a little dancing.
The entire panel was stumped by Dick with Robin Thicke, 45, guessing he was Dustin Hoffman with Nicole, while Jenny went with Tony Bennett and Ken guessing Robert De Niro.
“I just loved that they thought I was Robert De Niro. I didn’t know Robert De Niro could sing, to tell you the truth,” Dick said, laughing after unmasking himself.
The double elimination episode also featured Mustang revealing her identity after losing a battle royale with Medusa.
Mustang opened the episode with a powerful rendition of the Whitesnake song Here I Go Again.
Nicole told Mustang that in the nine seasons following her performance, she has never been so speechless.
Next up was Gnome, followed by Medusa, who wowed with a slick version of the Billie Eilish song Happier Than Ever.

Ken wildly suspected Medusa was Meghan Markle, 41.
“No, Ken. Sit down,’ Nick told him.
The panelists and audience voted after the first three contestants performed, and it was revealed that Gnome ended up ending up.
Mustang and Medusa then competed against each other during the Battle Royale, with each performing the Rihanna song Diamonds in different styles.
The panelists voted and declared that Medusa was the winner.
Country singer Sara Evans, 52, then took off her Mustang mask and revealed her identity.
Nick revealed that season 9 introduced a new way for panelists to save favorites with the introduction of the Ding Dong Keep It On bell.
“Somebody had to tell you, Nick, okay,” Nicole quipped while poking fun at Nick for having 11 kids.
Nick was a good player and went on to explain how the panelists can ring the bell three times in the first three rounds.
“These three singers will be fighting to get back into the competition in a special episode,” Nick said.
The Masked Singer will return on Fox next week.
