A wild rumor about Prince Harry’s drug use has resurfaced ahead of the release of his all-encompassing memoir, Spare.
In the book, which was accidentally put up for sale in Spain a week before its official release on January 10, the Duke of Sussex sensationally admits to having used cocaine a few times during his years as “party prince”.
This revelation has sparked new interest in a long-running rumor that Harry once said, “Hello, Grandma” before snorting a line of coke through a British banknote bearing the portrait of his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The “Hello Grandma” rumor first surfaced in February 2019 in a dummy article published by popular gossip newsletter Popbitch.
“Which third-generation royal unrolled a friend’s banknote while having a coke?” it read.
“You said, ‘Hello, Grandma!’ to the portrait of the Queen before rolling it again and hoofing her line.
At the time, readers speculated that the mystery king was Harry, given his reputation for being the “wild child” of the royal family.
Harry’s admission in his memoir Spare that he’s taken cocaine “a couple of times” has sparked renewed interest in a long-held rumor that he once said “Hello, Grandma” before snorting a row of Cokes. While the mystery officially remains unsolved, the revelations in Harry’s memoir certainly add to speculation that he was the mysterious sniffle.
Harry admits to snorting cocaine in his book and recalls being offered an offer during a hunting weekend at the age of 17.
According to translations obtained by Web and also reported by Sky News, he writes: “It wasn’t much fun and I wasn’t particularly happy as the others seemed to be, but it made me feel different and that was my main goal. Feel. Be different.’

In his memoir, Harry also boasts about lying to palace officials when a newspaper claimed in 2002 to have received a photograph of him using cocaine.
He boasts of dishonestly telling a high-ranking courtier that he never took the drug, prompting the palace to deny it to the journalist.
Elsewhere, Harry describes smoking cigarettes and cannabis and drinking on the Windsor Castle golf course when he was a student at Eton College.

Harry even described an incident in 2016 where he was taking magic mushrooms at a party and started hallucinating that a trash can was talking to him.
The Duke’s exploits as “party leader” have been widely reported over the years.
In February 2002 it was reported that King Charles, then Prince of Wales, sent Harry to visit Featherstone Lodge Rehabilitation Center in Peckham.
Harry also famously enjoyed a wild weekend in Las Vegas in 2012, when he was left wearing just a necklace while a naked girl hid behind him after a game of strip billiards in his VIP suite.
