Difficult rush hour in southwestern Quebec: Watch out for icy roads! – TVA News

Wednesday’s morning rush hour is expected to be difficult on Quebec roads due to snow and ice that fell overnight, particularly in the southwest of the province.

The low pressure system responsible for this weather cocktail, which is making roads slippery, will move throughout the day and flood the rest of the province.

The only downside is that the slight rise in mercury could turn snow showers into rain in southern Quebec, particularly in Montreal, where temperatures could reach 4 degrees.

Central and eastern parts of Quebec will suffer from accumulating snow on high ground and rain elsewhere, mixed with freezing rain and sleet in places.

In Quebec, the weather depression could leave a white carpet of 4 centimeters of snow in mountainous terrain with temperatures above freezing.

The same scenario is expected in areas of eastern Quebec, where precipitation will turn to rain on Thursday due to rising temperatures.

Otherwise, the weather is expected to improve in the southwest with a mix of sun and clouds, while areas in central Quebec will be cloudier.
