More than 24 life-sized dinosaurs from nine different species will take over the Bell Center this weekend as part of the Jurassic World Live tour.
Among these we find the impressive 40-foot-long Tyrannosaurus Rex. When designing these gigantic dolls, their characteristics were taken into account down to the smallest detail in order to achieve the most realistic effect possible.
“I’ve never seen real dinosaurs before, but we agreed they still look very real. So it’s really impressive to see that and also to see how they move,” Mélissa Giampaolo, vice president of show marketing at Evenko, told TVA Nouvelles.
Thanks to their metal skeleton, these huge reptiles can move smoothly and naturally.
In addition to manipulating the mechanisms that bring dinosaurs to life, artists/athletes must wear the suit, which can weigh up to 160 pounds.
To prepare for this, artists must wear a 60-pound weighted vest during rehearsals. Behind each dinosaur, like Olive the tiny stegosaurus, is an actor specifically chosen for their physical endurance and ability to recreate the animals’ movements and emotions.
