On Thursday, November 30th, shortly before the end of the military pause, the two warring parties reached a last-minute agreement. At least three dead in attack in Jerusalem. At least three people were killed and 13 others injured in a shooting attack at a bus stop in Jerusalem, Israeli police said. “Two terrorists who came by car and were armed, one with an M-16 and the other with a pistol,” opened fire. The two men, described as “residents of East Jerusalem,” were “neutralized on the spot.”
Extra time at the last minute. The Israeli prime minister’s office said the Israeli government had decided to resume fighting “immediately” if Hamas did not provide a list of the next hostages to be released before 7 a.m. “Israel has received a list of women and children according to the terms of the agreement and therefore the ceasefire will continue,” he added.
Antony Blinken in Israel. The American Secretary of State has arrived in Israel, where he will meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to press for an extension of the ceasefire before traveling to the occupied West Bank.
New releases at night. Ten Israeli hostages, including five dual nationals (one Dutch, three Germans and one American) as well as two Russians and four Thais, were handed over by Hamas to the International Red Cross and then taken to a military base in Israel. In return, 30 Palestinians (16 minors and 14 women) who were imprisoned in several Israeli prisons were subsequently released.
