Volodymyr Zelensky accuses Russia of genocide. The deportation of “tens of thousands” of Ukrainian children by Moscow was “clearly a genocide,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused at the United Nations on Tuesday. “We are trying to get these children home, but time is running out. What will happen to them? In Russia they are taught to hate Ukraine and all ties with their families are severed,” he said.
New Ukrainian drone attack in Russia. Moscow claimed on Wednesday it had destroyed four Ukrainian drones overnight over the Belgorod and Orel regions bordering Ukraine, also in the west. The Russian Ministry of Defense has not released any information about possible damage or casualties at this time.
The Belarusian opposition fears rapprochement with Russia. Exiled Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya called on world leaders on Tuesday not to forget her country. She fears that diplomatically isolated Belarus could become a “consolation prize” for Russian President Vladimir Putin in connection with the war in Ukraine.
