A pope he is 86 years old died when trying to save daughter disabled fall into a canal. Lawrence Casey dove into the freezing cold Bude Canal in North Cornwall after his daughter Jessica, 27, had lost control of the she electric wheelchair. The man drowned trying to save her while passersby watching the scene cried out for help.

Some people who noticed the girl in the water while jogging dived to save her, but there was nothing they could do for the 86-year-old. Jessica suffers from severe cerebral palsy which does not allow her to walk independently and only communicates via a tablet. She and her father, as reported by the girl’s mother, the ex-wife of the 86-year-old, often went for long walks. The woman then explained that her daughter told her the dynamic of the facts and confessed that she lost control of her electric chair and found herself in the water.

The witnesses did not see the fall but recognized that something serious was going on and intervened. Unfortunately, it was not possible to save Jessica’s father, who was pronounced dead of drowning shortly after the accident.
