Why pancake and waffle mixes are recalled
All recalled products were manufactured by Continental Mills, and the buttermilk pancakes and waffle mixes in question were sold under both Kroger and Walmart store brands (Kroger and Great Value, respectively).
The manufacturer issued a recall after a piece of cable used to clean the processing line was found in some of the pancake and waffle mixture. So far, no consumer has reported that the product contains cables and there are no signs of associated illness or injury.

If you recently purchased the above pancake and waffle mix from either retailer, don’t eat them.
