Facebook is old hat. According to a recent study by the renowned Pew Research Center, Facebook usage has dropped from 71% to nearly 32%. Some 13-17 year olds still use Facebook, but the number is getting smaller and smaller, and very quickly.

The Pew Research Center’s 2021 figures match internal Facebook documents released by whistleblower Frances Haugen. And interest rates continue to fall at a record pace. “Most young adults perceive Facebook as a place for people in their 40s and 50s,” quoted US magazine The Verge from Facebook’s internal document. “Young adults perceive content as boring, misleading and negative.” Nearly 19% of young people said they use YouTube “almost constantly”, 16% play on TikTok, while only 2% use Facebook.
However, the Instagram platform has had to take a beating in recent weeks. Young people think Instagram is slowly turning into a TikTok game and users don’t like it at all, “Heute” reported.
