The Israeli government and the terrorist group Hamas have signed an agreement under which at least 50 people abducted by Hamas, all women and children, who were held captive for 46 days, must be released in exchange for a fourday ceasefire and the departure of about 150 Palestinian women and youth held in prisons in Israel.

Among the Israelis who could be released is Abigail Mor Edan, a threeyearold girl with Israeli and U.S. citizenship whose parents were killed in the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. Two brothers, one aged 6 and the other aged 10, hid in a closet on the day of the Hamas attack.

Abigail celebrates her 4th birthday on Friday (24).

Noa Naftali, Abigail’s cousin, told CBS that the threeyearold girl was kidnapped along with neighbors from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, where the family lived.

According to Noa, Abigail’s mother was murdered in front of the girl and two brothers. The girl ran to her father, who came to carry the child before he was shot.

Then the girl escaped her father’s body and went to her neighbors who were kidnapped by Hamas (a mother and three children, one aged 4, one aged 8 and one aged 10).

The cousin stated that the family initially thought Abigail had died, but they later learned that the child had survived.

Abigail’s greataunt, Liz Hirsh Naftali, told the CBS station that the family still did not know whether the child would be released, but that an expectation had been raised because women and children were given priority.
