Targeted at School: Discriminated Against for Pursuing Musical Dreams

Sabrina Carpenter believes that she had a hard time at school because she wanted to be a singer from an early age.

A feeling of exclusion that only subsided when the Riley's World star was able to leave school to study at home.

“It's a little ironic, but I was bullied at school for singing,” the actress and singer said in a conversation with Maya Hawke for Interview Magazine.

“I had big dreams as a kid, and it worked for me.”

“I did well in school, but to be honest, I started homeschooling at a very young age,” the Nonsense singer continued.

“It may sound dramatic, but I felt more confident learning this way. I was in online school and started working pretty early, which allowed me to get out of those little toxic circles that sometimes you don't even notice when you're young. And I’m grateful for that.”

Known for her role in the Disney Channel series “Finding Riley” (2014-2017), Sabrina Carpenter made her musical debut shortly afterwards with her first EP entitled “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying”.

Since then, she has juggled between film roles and musical success, which was confirmed last year when she was chosen by Taylor Swift to open for her Eras tour in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil.
