Disgraced Police Commissioner James Burke, who is accused of botching the Gilgo Beach investigation, has been arrested for recruiting a sex worker.
Burke, 58, was arrested by a targeted squad at 10:15 am Tuesday morning on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute.
Other charges are pending against the former top police officer widely blamed for the mishandling of the Gilgo Beach investigation.
A Suffolk County spokesman confirmed that he faces charges of sexual conduct, public indecency, indecent exposure and criminal solicitation.
He was arrested at Suffolk County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park, but it’s unclear when he will appear in court.
