An Oklahoma high school is facing intense backlash after high school students participated in a disgusting “toe licking” contest as part of a fundraiser.

Deer Creek High School in Edmond hosted an assembly called Clash of Classes on Thursday.

The goal of the event was to raise money for Not Your Average Joe Coffee, which employs people with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities.

Students were required to pay to attend the assembly, and freshmen through seniors volunteered to participate in a series of class competitions.

Challenges included a “toe licking contest,” in which students sucked and licked other students’ bare feet.

The grotesque display was caught on camera and the footage was sent to FOX 25.

In the video, half of the participants sat down with their feet outstretched, while the other half of the less fortunate children lay on the school gym floor and licked their classmates' feet.

A statement released by the Deer Creek School District noted that each participating student pre-registered for the games they played.

According to the statement, no faculty or staff attended the meeting.

“So everything is okay? Have you registered? Which faculty members approved it? “This is beyond reprehensible, it is criminal abuse,” one X user responded to the school district’s statement.

“Such a disgusting way to use children.” Every school employee should be fired and banned from ever teaching again. “What on earth is wrong with people,” said another outraged X user.

The school district also said that all children participating in the challenge were assigned to the appropriate grade levels for toe-licking.

In the statement, the school boasted about the $152,830.38 raised for the charity before defending the bizarre challenge.

Deer Creek schools have faced several scandals in the past – including a bus driver being arrested for possession of child pornography.

A baseball coach at Deer Creek High School has been “fired” because his players suffered second-degree burns after they were forced to drag their knuckles on the turf on the field during practice last year.

“This afternoon, Deer Creek High School announced a total of $152,830.38 raised for Not Your Average Joe Coffee, an organization created to “inspire our community by engaging students and adults with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities,” it says on its website. This total was raised through a week of events and activities at both Deer Creek High School and Deer Creek Middle School, all designed to bring our community together into one highly impactful organization. On Thursday, February 29, 2024, Deer Creek High School hosted an assembly called “Clash of Classes” for students who paid to attend. During this assembly, ninth through twelfth grade students volunteered to participate in various student-organized class competitions to raise money for NYAJ. At the meeting, all participants were students who had pre-registered for the game(s) being played. No Deer Creek faculty or staff participated in any of the games during this Clash of Classes meeting. Many dedicated students have generously sacrificed their personal time to achieve this significant achievement, which will benefit communities beyond Deer Creek's boundaries. “We would like to thank all the patrons, businesses and sponsors who contributed to the success of this year’s Wonderful Week of Fundraising.”
