Disney bows to its bright workforce over Floridas Parental Rights

Disney cedes its workforce over Florida parental rights bill: KIRA DAVIS

Last week, dozens of employees at the Walt Disney Company went on strike to protest Florida’s parental rights bill in what could be considered one of the laziest forms of modern protest.

The bill, otherwise known to people who haven’t read the legislation, is also referred to under the wildly inaccurate slogan “Don’t say Gay Bill.”

Here’s the reality: A bill expected to be signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis would ban formal education on “sexual orientation or gender identity” for students in kindergarten through 3rd grade or in any way that is “inappropriate for age or developmental level” . corresponding.’

Critics say it’s hateful. Most Americans think it makes sense.

51% of registered voters said they support the bill and 35% said they oppose it in a POLITICO/Morning Consult poll in early March.

Perhaps the most current figure is this: A poll, admittedly conducted by a Republican-leaning group, showed that 52% of likely Democratic voters in Florida support the bill.

Despite this, a small number of wauqueteers marched outside the Walt Disney Company headquarters in Burbank, the equivalent of an activist coffee break.

At one point there were reportedly more members of the media than protesters.

How much “courage” does it take to take what is essentially a paid break to go outside and yell at the TV cameras?

Nothing is required.

In one of the protest group’s most underage demands, they called on Disney to halt construction of the company’s flagship theme park in Orlando until the law is repealed.

Unsurprisingly, Disney doesn’t seem to be responding to this request, but they are at least lip service to the hiss.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek apologized for not taking a public stance against the bill and vowed to do more to protect against similar bills in the future.

Which? Why?

It is like giving chocolate to a child who has just thrown himself on the floor. This is another example of how the corporate culture is infected with political agendas.

American consumers and even Disney employees are paying the price.

A letter from a group of anonymous employees to their Disney management describes the tensions surrounding the discussion of political issues such as the Florida bill.

“The Walt Disney Company is becoming an increasingly uncomfortable place to work for those of us whose political and religious views are not overtly progressive,” the anonymous letter said.

“We quietly watch as our beliefs are attacked by our own employer, and we often see those who share our views denounced as villains by our own leadership.”

These employees are so afraid of workplace retaliation for their own opinions that they are forced to hide their identities.

Think about it for a moment.

People who skipped work, even while continuing to receive a salary, are not afraid.

They proudly steal labor from their employer to score political points on an issue that has nothing to do with their employer.

People who continue to do their jobs and want nothing more than to work in a peaceful environment are so afraid of retribution that they are forced to hide their identity.

Remember that classic song the seven dwarfs sing in Snow White?

Whistle while you work. These employees must whisper while working.

Others may scream while they are not working.

It fell behind in many tragic ways.

So what does a handful of Disney employees in California have to do with the Florida legislature or the voters?

They make cartoons, air sports channels, run amusement parks, and make sure America’s Funniest Home Video is never cancelled.

It’s an effort that makes money for Disney, keeps these protesters going, and helps make Mickey Mouse a staple of American culture.

But Disney is not a political organization, and their clients are not morons.

They don’t need to be lectured or “trained” on political issues when they turn on The Lion King.

Disney customers know where to get political information, and Disney isn’t on this list, nor should it be.

It is incredibly condescending to suggest that an entertainment company should be involved in any attempt to undermine our Republic’s democratic legislative process.

Make no mistake about it. That is what these employees do.

They protest against the will of the people, for it was the people who elected the representatives responsible for the “abusive” parental rights legislation.

This is how a representative republic works.

When Disney bows the knee to the small number of extremists in their ranks, they turn their backs on the people who support their business.

On the other hand, it seems to take extraordinary courage to say anything within the Disney Corporation that is not in line with progressive leftist ideology.

The squeaky wheel gets grease, and while we’ve been attacked with squeaks and grease from Disney’s progressive employees, those who would rather remain politically neutral – or at least prefer not to get involved in politics in their workplace – are being bullied and intimidation. .

Let’s call it what it is – corporate cowardice.

Of course, the reality is that this is all useless goodness signaling.

The protesting workers do not want this.

They cause havoc just because they think their jobs are protected.

Nobody seemed to want to leave their job, the only way that would have a direct impact on Disney and their business was by quitting.

Their demands that Disney halt any further theme park construction in Florida are nonsense. Disney has been in Florida since 1971 and they currently own 25,000 acres of theme park gold.

Is the professional protest class really expecting Disney to up the ante and move its amusement park to New Hampshire?

However, Disney gave in to the whiners and issued a statement. And even that wasn’t enough. This is never enough. When someone leans towards the crowd, it only strengthens the crowd.

Right now, a small crowd is running a giant corporation. Rather than simply walk away from a company they see as treacherous to their beliefs, they decide to force everyone, including customers, to accept their political stance.
