Disney Channel star Vanessa Hudgens said she stopped hiding her “gift” and instead decided to “lean in,” revealing she sees and hears “things” like “ghosts.” (Disclosure: The Daily Wire has announced plans for children’s entertainment content.)
During the 33-year-old actress’ appearance on Tuesday’s The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host and superstar singer asked Hudgens about her “new passion in life,” which is immersing herself in the world of the paranormal.
“Are you obsessed with ghosts?” Clarkson said. “I hear it’s you.”
The ‘High School Musical’ star corrected Clarkson and said it wasn’t necessarily new, before explaining how she’s bumped into something in the world her entire life.

“It’s not really a new passion,” the actress replied. “You just act like you’re going to find out. Yes, I feel like I’ve accepted the fact that I’m seeing things and hearing things.”
The host asked her to explain further and if she really had “experiences” of the paranormal kind.
“Yeah, a lot of them, a lot of them over the years,” Vanessa shared. “Like as a child growing up.”
“I remember getting ready for school when I was 8 and there was like — you know those ducks that are like that duck thing you draw?” she added. “It’s a toy. There was one on the dining table and I walked up and it just started walking next to me.”
“And I kind of turned it off for a while because it’s scary,” Hudgens continued. “The unknown is scary, you can’t do that, but I’ve recently thought, no, that’s a gift and something I have the ability to do, so I’m going to lean on that.”
Hudgens explained how she recently conducted her first “real paranormal investigation” using devices like a “ghost box,” which she basically said “scans radio frequencies very quickly.”
The Princess Switch star shared that it’s not a device meant to be used in the city but needs to be taken to the more rural areas so it doesn’t “pick up stations”.
“And when you turn on AM, it just sounds like noise,” the Disney star said. “But something about the electricity it generates allows spirits to speak through it.”
The superstar actress shared how she and a friend went to a cemetery at night and sat in front of a headstone, where she said they both heard about communicating with each other.
Clarkson said she was “so keen” to do something like this.
Hudgens said the girls didn’t run after hearing the actress’ name, and explained why that seemed like a bad idea.
“You have to tell them to stay because you don’t want ghosts to follow you,” Vanessa explained, before Kelly asked, “do you?” And the actress insisted that “no, you don’t.”
