Disney Dreamlight Valley leaves early access in December, but remains paid – Weighs the launch

Disney Dreamlight Valley will finally leave Early Access after just over a year, with the official launch scheduled for December 5th. However, it will not be “free-to-play”.

Gameloft announced the news on its website Friday morning. Early Access has been chargeable for about a year, but the plan was to offer the game free of charge at the official launch. However, something seems to have changed.

“As we look forward to the official launch and based on what we learned from Early Access, we have decided that the game will continue to be paid for in the near future. This means that the game will not be free to play after Early Access ends on December 5th,” the website reads.

According to Gameloft, this decision ensures that Disney Dreamlight Valley can continue to provide a high-quality gaming experience and allows the company to deliver on its promise to offer free updates. According to the studio, purchases that require Moonstones will remain optional, fair, and consistent with the level of quality players have come to expect.

Will the game ever be free to play? It’s not entirely clear, but it seems unlikely since Gameloft announced new paid editions of the game at launch.

Here are the announced editions:
