This is one of the few truly dated series on this list! And besides, we're talking about a very close date here. Marion Dayre's miniseries will actually land on Disney+ on January 9th. But what is this series? Well, it's about Echo, a series set in the continuity of events of another Marvel series, namely Hawkeye. As you can imagine, this new production is about a character from Hawkeye, namely Maya Lopez, the deaf superhero Echo. Once again, we are not changing any winning teams as Alaqua Cox will of course reprise his role. The premise is simple: after meeting Hawkeye, the young woman decides to return to her hometown in Oklahoma to accept her past and reconnect with her heritage. Note that we should also see Echo again in the Daredevil: Born Again series. The latter was originally planned for early 2024, but was removed from the Disney+ program a few months ago.
Agatha: Darkhold Stories
If you've seen WandaVision, you already know the character Agatha Harkness. And if you liked it, that's good, because Marvel is offering us a spin-off series about it. Your name? Agatha: Darkhold Stories (formerly known as Agatha: House of Harkness. Apparently Kathryn Hahn will take on this role. And at the top we find Jac Schaeffer, who has already worked on WandaVision (and also co-wrote the film Black). Widow ). As you probably understood, it is better to have seen WandaVision before starting this new series on the trail of Agatha's lost powers. But since Disney has announced (without further details) that it will be broadcast from the end of 2024, you have time to catch up (if there is a delay).
X Men '97
To conclude this section on Marvel, let's take a look at an animated series: X-Men '97. As the name suggests, the latter will focus on the X-Men gang of mutant superheroes. And to be honest, it will even pick up where another animated series from the '90s left off: X-Men: The Animated Series. Many voice actors who lent their voices to the series back in the day will also return to the service (Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, etc.). We already know that the first season of this new animated series will consist of 10 episodes and that a second one is currently in production. Marvel is therefore particularly confident about this new production. It's right ? We'll find out during 2024.

Skeleton crew
Skeleton Crew is a new live-action series in the Star Wars universe. The pitch promises a light and good mood series. Skeleton Crew will actually accompany four boys lost in the galaxy who will do anything to find their way home. These four little boys are played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter and Robert Timothy Smith. And the least we can say is that these young actors are being well looked after. The cast also includes Jude Law and musician Babatunde Omoroga Adebimpe. And the producer is Jon Watts, who you know best from the latest Spider-Man films with Tom Holland and Christopher Ford. A priori, the events of Skeleton Crew will take place simultaneously with those of another Disney+ series, namely The Mandalorian.
The Acolyte
With “The Acolyte” series, the Star Wars saga leaves the beaten path. By choosing a thriller based around a crime spree at the end of the High Republic era, Lucasfilm wants to offer something different. It must be said that this is the first time we've seen this dark time of the High Republic on screen. In this special context, Disney+ subscribers can discover the adventures of a young former padawan and her Jedi master. These roles are played by Amandla Stenberg (Hunger Games, The Hate U Give) and Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game), respectively. Incidentally, we also find Manny Jacinto, Rebecca Henderson, Carrie-Anne Moss and even Joonas Suotamo, who played Chewbacca in the postlogy and will put on the costume of another Wookie. There is currently no specific release date, but we should know more soon.

Disney+ doesn't just have Marvel and Star Wars. French series are also becoming increasingly popular on the platform. In 2023 we were given the series “Tout va bien” with Virginie Efira, Aliocha Schneider and Sara Giraudeau in the main roles. And in 2024 we have the right to Emperor Karl. This is a series that traces the beginning of Karl Lagerfeld's career in the 1970s. It is the actor Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds) who lends his face and voice to the ambitious young designer, but also Alex Lutz in the role of Pierre Bergé and ecnore Agnès Jaoui in the role of Gaby Aghion. Note that this year another French series will also land exclusively on Disney+: Children Are Kings (adaptation of the novel of the same name by Delphine de Vigan). There is no specific release date for either.
Nell Rebel
We're switching gears with a British series that takes you on an action-packed fantasy adventure: Nell Rebelle. The pitch is as follows: Nell Jackson is accused of a murder she didn't commit. She escapes with her sisters and all three lead a life as outlaws. Knowing that the series was conceived by Sally Wainwright, who previously worked on the award-winning series “Last Tango in Halifax” and “Happy Valley” and most notably directed Ben Taylor (“Sex Education”), we have reason to believe that it is a real gem full of surprises. Little is currently known about this series, starting with its exact release date. On the other hand, we know that Louisa Harland (Derry Girls) has been chosen for the main role and that this first season will offer us 8 episodes of 45 minutes each.
Win or lose
Disney+ is also Pixar. And the world-renowned animation studio plans to step out of its comfort zone with its first true animated series, “Win or Lose.” But he is well surrounded, as we find Carrie Hobson (Toy Story 4) and Michael Yates in particular in the production. When it comes to pitching, “Win or Lose” follows a coed softball team as they prepare for their championship game. Originally scheduled for December 2023, the series has been postponed to 2024, with no further details on the new date or the reasons for this postponement. We hope to hear from him soon. In any case, the year promises to be a busy one for Pixar as the studio will also unveil the second season of Monsters Inc.: At Work on Disney+ and Elio and, most importantly, the highly anticipated Vice Versa 2 in theaters.
