Due to a problem in the communications system, there was a service interruption on the four lines of the Montreal Metro early Wednesday afternoon.
The system was restored at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, about 20 minutes after the announcement on the networks, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) said on TVA Nouvelles.
In order to enable users to travel, a special bus service was set up on the four lines.

“To find the stop, look for it on the neighborhood map. The stop is very close to the train stations and can be identified by the color of the line it serves,” the STM says on its X account.
“Several bus lines run parallel to the subway lines on their usual routes. “Don’t hesitate to use them, they are good travel alternatives,” the STM still reminded us.
An internal investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the outage.
