Dissatisfied, the FAE will continue its strike after the holidays, but wants to quickly reach an agreement

More than two hours after the Federation of Education Unions (FSE-CSQ) informed its members that a proposed regulation was on the table, the President of the FAE, Mélanie Hubert, wanted to address her members.

The Autonomous Education Federation (FAE), which brings together 40% of the province's teachers, still has not reached an agreement with Quebec.

In a press release, the union even states that “the indefinite general strike will continue after the holidays.”

On the 22nd day of its indefinite general strike, the FAE is still not in a negotiating boom, its president confirms in a message posted on Facebook.

“Are we in a blitz? No, not yet, but it's coming. Yesterday the management party invited us to a lightning event, but in the discussion we understood that this is how it is [Conseil du trésor] “I tried to understand the issues that would be discussed in the negotiations,” she emphasized.

“We did GGI for 22 days, and it’s certainly not about letting our behavior be dictated to us.”

“We want to address issues that have not been raised by management. We returned to the management party on Friday and are waiting for her return,” adds Ms. Hubert.

In the face of pressure, the FAE president responded to information indicating that Quebec and the FSE-CSQ, which brings together 60% of the province's teachers, were very close to an agreement.

“At the moment we do not know the content of the said agreement that would have been concluded with the FSE, but we will evaluate the impact that this agreement will have on our own negotiations, but that does not change our objectives and the requirements , which “we wore,” she continues.
