Sandy Marton, pseudonym Aleksandar Marton, was born on October 4, 1959 in Zagreb. Sandy Marton rose to fame in the 1980s after being discovered by talent scout Claudio Cecchetto and launched into the Italo disco music genre. After Cecchetto met him in a famous Milan disco in 1982, he produced his first single “Ok Run”. That helped popularize him, but the explosion will come two years later with the magnificent and mind-blowing People from Ibiza, a hymn to Ibiza’s Spanish nightlife that soon topped the Italian charts at number one. After this amazing performance, Sandy Marton could not repeat the same success with the other singles released later.
