A photographer has used artificial intelligence to reinterpret famous celebrities as retirees in a new project that has left some of them almost unrecognizable.
The incredible images are the work of Alper Yesiltas, a photographer from Turkey who created the portraits for a project entitled Young Age(d).
Yesiltas has taken a number of modern day celebrities and reimagined them in their golden years.
He used artificial intelligence image enhancement software and photo editors to create the images.

Harry Styles
The artist’s first image is of Harry Styles. The star, pictured in a blue and white suit, has been aged to have gray streaks in his hair and aged-looking skin.
Compared to today’s pictures, the One Direction member and now solo artist looks strikingly different.

Billie Eilish
The second picture shows 21-year-old pop sensation Billie Eilish. She jumped onto the global stage as a teenager and became iconic for her fashion looks as well as her hit singles like Bad Guy and Ocean Eyes.
She has since recorded the theme for Daniel Craig’s final Bond film, No Time To Die.
Eilish’s future self is one of the most recognizable of the series, in part due to her different hair colors since she was catapulted to stardom.

Ryan Gosling
Ryan Gosling’s performance in the Hollywood hit “La La Land” remains one of his most famous performances to date.
The Canadian actor has also appeared in hit films like Blade Runner 2049 and The Fall Guy.
His future portrait features aged skin, but Gosling will be relieved to see that his hair remains as thick and straight as ever.

Emma Stone
Gosling’s La La Land co-star Emma Stone, 34, is also included in the photographer’s latest series of portraits.
The work features the actress’ stunning smile with light blonde hair and lots of freckles under her eyes.

Cristiano Ronaldo
The fifth photo shows soccer star Ronaldo, who has been a global soccer phenomenon for as long as anyone can remember – and turned up to represent Portugal at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, carrying the team’s hopes on his shoulders.
Since then he has had a rather explosive departure from Manchester United and has now announced a move to Al-Nassr, a Saudi Arabian side.
Yesiltas has chosen to present Ronaldo at a future World Cup – with slightly less hair than he currently wears.

Dua Lipa
Pop star and model Dua Lipa’s portrait suggests she will keep her youthful looks for years to come.
The 27-year-old’s best-known hits include IDGAF and Hotter Than Hell, and she’s been vocal about her Albanian and English heritage.
Yesiltas used the same AI technology and image editing software for the singer as for the other portraits in his series.
Best known for her pop songs, Dua Lipa has produced several #1 singles such as New Rules
Justin Bieber
The pop idol’s futuristic self is portrayed in Yesilta’s portrait in a fashion style remarkably different from what he would normally wear.
The What Do You Mean singer has previously collaborated with Billie Eilish, who is also part of the project, on a remix of her hit song Bad Guy.

Greta Thunberg
Eco-activist Greta Thunberg skipped school for the first time when she was just 15 to protest climate change in front of the Swedish parliament.
She soon became known around the world and has helped educate millions about the dangers of global warming.
At just 20 years old, her future portrait is almost completely unrecognizable.

Lionel Messi
The last portrait shows a retired version of Lionel Messi.
The sports legend is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and captains the Argentina national team.

It follows a series titled As If Nothing Happened, in which he brought stars who left us too soon back to life – painting eerie portraits of Princess Diana, Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Freddie Mercury and others created.
“The development of AI technology has excited me for a while because I thought that ‘everything imaginable can be shown in reality,'” Yesiltas wrote of the project.
“When I started tinkering with technology, I saw what I could do and thought about what would make me happiest.”
The artist continued, “The hardest part of the creative process for me is getting the image to feel ‘real’ to me. The moment I like the most is when I think the picture in front of me looks very realistic, like it was taken by a photographer.”
His earlier pictures showed celebrities who had died at a young age – often in tragic circumstances.
These included stars such as Princess Diana, who was killed in Paris aged 36 after the Mercedes-Benz she was driving was pursued by paparazzi and crashed in the early hours of August 31, 1997.
He also created an image of rocker Kurt Cobain, who was found dead at his Seattle home on April 5, 1994, having sustained a gunshot wound to the head at the age of 27.
Beatles singer John Lennon was fatally shot on December 8, 1980 at the age of 40 in New York City.
And Queen singer Freddie Mercury died on November 24, 1991 at the age of 45 at his home in London from bronchial pneumonia caused by AIDS.
