Doctor Who FIRST LOOK: RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon looks menacing in costume as ‘Greatest Enemy Ever’

Two-time RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon was spotted in costume for the first time just weeks after announcing they would be joining the cast of Doctor Who.

The 35-year-old award-winning actor and singer – who calls the pronouns she/they – looked menacing as the new villain on British sci-fi TV series BBC.

No doubt Jinkx – born Jerick Roman Lamar Hoffe – will be able to show off her musical prowess as the color of her coat featured a piano key print in addition to the inner lining of the long sleeves.

The long coat dragged on the floor while it was paired with fitted trousers and black leather knee high ankle boots.

Jinkx – who rose to fame after winning two seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race – wore a lot of jewelry, including large silver earrings and matching rings on her fingers.

The reality star’s auburn locks were worn in a wavy updo, while her makeup was completed with dramatic mustard eyeshadow and a swipe of red lips.

Not much is known about her character, but the official Doctor Who Twitter wrote: “Here’s your first look at @JinkxMonsoon in his role… as the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet! #DoctorWho.’

Jinkx has garnered an international following after securing yet another win – when she was crowned Queen of Queens in All Stars season and competed against other winners from the show.

The drag performer and comedian will make her debut on the famous BBC One show right after her sold-out Broadway performance.

Jinkx made her highly anticipated debut as the matron “Mama” Morton in Chicago, the longest-running Broadway show.

The award-winning actress’ emergence on the Broadway scene was a significant moment for the LGBTQIA+ community – as she became the first drag queen to play the role of Mama Morton and broke box office records in her extended 8-week run.

Showrunner Russel T. Davies excitedly announced, “In a galaxy of comets and supernovas, here comes the biggest star of them all.

“Jinkx Monsoon is on a collision course with the TARDIS and Doctor Who will never be the same again!”

“I’m honored, thrilled and absolutely excited to join Doctor Who! Russell T. Davies is a visionary and a brilliant writer,” Jinkx said emotionally.

“I can’t wait to get in the weeds with him and the crew! I hope the TARDIS has room for my luggage.”

Doctor Who will return in November 2023 with three special episodes starring David Tennant as the fourteenth Doctor to coincide with the 60th anniversary.

Sex education star Ncuti Gatwa is set to be the fifteenth Doctor and the first episode will then air during the festive period.

Screenwriter Russell T Davis, who took over as showrunner in 2021, is currently working with Stephen Moffatt to write episodes for the 2024 series.

A source told The Mirror: “Russell is on a mission to make Doctor Who great again, event television not to be missed, and has been for many years while he and Steven have been in charge of the show.

“He has nothing but respect for what Steven accomplished with the show and was a fan of his vision as showrunner. He only approached him as an author about returning because he knows Doctor Who inside and out and has a brilliant imagination for adventures in space and time.

“It took some convincing, but the chance to contribute to a show he’s loved since childhood and see it thrive in a new era with a new Doctor was just too much to resist.”

Doctor Who will premiere exclusively on the BBC for the UK and Ireland.

Disney+ will be the exclusive home for new seasons of Doctor Who outside of the UK and Ireland.
