Remember the case
Mingau was shot in the head on the night of September 2 in Paraty, on Rio’s Costa Verde. As he drove through the Ilha das Cobras neighborhood, his car was shot at by criminals. Civilian police continue to search for one of the five suspects involved in the attempted murder. According to the delegate in charge of the case, Marcello Russo of the 167th DP (Paraty), preliminary arrest warrants have been issued and searches are being carried out to arrest the fugitives. Of the five suspects, police have already arrested four, including Pablo William da Silva Mostarda, 29 years old; Ray Limeira Belchior, 19 years old; Lorran Nascimento Moraes, 21 years old; and João Vitor da Silva, known as Reliquia. Investigations indicate that Mingau entered the municipality of Ilha das Cobras in a dark pickup truck and drove at “some speed” over a speed bump at Praça do Ovo, a “wellknown drug sales point dominated by the Comando Vermelho.” The crime occurred on the eve of the musician’s birthday, who turned 56.
The action would have raised suspicions about drug traffickers who dominate the region. According to police, the car was large, dark in color and had foil on the windows that made it difficult to identify the driver.

As a witness, a friend of the musician told police that they withdrew R$300 and went to the location, about 300 meters from a military police base, to have a snack. After his injury, he was taken by ambulance to the Hugo Miranda Municipal Hospital in Paraty.
The bassist has been with Ultraje a Rigor since 1999. He joined the group 19 years after the band’s formation in 1980.
