It’s been 125 years since the Dodgers suffered such a devastating shutout loss at home.

Their tough month of June bottomed out on Saturday with a 15-0 loss to the Giants at Dodger Stadium, equaling their worst home shutout loss of all time.

The Dodgers last lost 15-0 at home in 1898, when they were still known as the Brooklyn Bridegrooms and lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Saturday’s loss dropped the Dodgers (39-32) to 5-9 this month and they are four games behind the NL West leaders Diamondbacks.

“There are things we need to do better when things aren’t going well,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the loss, according to the Los Angeles Times. “Little things, the parts of execution of things.”

Rookie right-hander Bobby Miller had impressed in his first four MLB starts, allowing just two runs over 23 innings, but on Saturday he had seven runs in seven hits and three walks over 5 ⅔ innings.

The game was tied 0-0 early in the fifth period when Miller gave up four runs – three of them on a LaMonte Wade Jr. home run – before being pulled in the sixth when ex-Met JD Davis hit a grand slam.

“I think that was probably the first time that there was a small mishap in the sense that something didn’t happen the way we expected it to,” Roberts told reporters. “I thought he was showing a little frustration. But things like that will happen.”

The Dodgers’ tricky run coincided with an upswing in the Giants, who have won six straight games and are 10-4 this month.

The Giants (38-32) can overtake the Dodgers overall if they manage to win Sunday.

“It was obviously difficult to build any kind of momentum,” Roberts said of his Dodgers. “It doesn’t feel good to lose, especially over a distance like this. We just have to focus on playing good baseball. If we do that, it will change.”
