Odessa is the city of all trade between Ukraine and the rest of the world. The next goal of the Russian army should be the Black Sea port. The attack was supposed to come from the sea, but for now, Russian ships patrol the coastal areas.
Satellite imagery shows that 14 ships of the Russian army are approaching about fifty kilometers from Odessa in the Black Sea. They are not yet visible from the shore, but from their observation posts, the Ukrainian military knows that ships and tanks are unloading there. “We are increasing surveillance, fixing all movements on the horizon. We saw several Russian reconnaissance boats today. We know where they are, they cannot take us by surprise,” the Ukrainian military said.
Are Russian troops about to launch an assault on the port city of Odessa? Ukrainian air defense claims to have intercepted 90 Russian missiles over the city. On one of the beaches, volunteers speed up the construction of trenches and sing the Ukrainian anthem to counter the approaching enemy. But many are trying to escape, the uncertainty is unbearable.
