Doja Cat says she’s done vaping after undergoing surgery on one of her tonsils to remove an abscess.

The 26-year-old singer-songwriter revealed her approach to her fans in a tweet she posted on Thursday, where she also said she may have bad news for fans soon.

‘DR. just had to cut into my left tonsil. I had an abscess in it. My whole throat is fucked so I might have some bad news for you guys soon,” said the Kiss Me More singer.

The Los Angeles native, whose maiden name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, said she contracted an infection ahead of the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, which took place on Sunday.

‘I took frigging antibiotics but forgot I was taking them and then I drank wine and vaped all day and then I started getting a nasty growth on my tonsil so they had to operate on it today,’ she explained .

She then gave fans much more information than many of them wanted with a series of tweets that followed.

“He stuck a needle in here twice and then sucked out all the juice and then he took a sharp thing and cut it in two places and squeezed out all the goo in here,” she wrote. “I cried and it hurt a lot, but I’m fine.”

She then explained that she planned to give up vaping for a while, but said she wouldn’t throw it away if a fan suggested it.

“Throwing them away just causes panic. I’m addicted but I’m not weak,” the singer wrote. “I literally stared at my vape today, which I would normally have puffed a thousand times a day, and instead took two. I’m trying to go cold turkey first, but hopefully by then my brain won’t need it at all.

She went on to say that throwing the vape away wouldn’t help because “Right now I NEED YOU. I don’t WANT them because I’m in pain. But my brain is addicted to it.”

Doja later tweeted that she was planning to have her tonsils removed “very soon.”

The You Right hitmaker won four awards from a total of 14 nominations at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.

She took home awards for Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, Top R&B Album and Top Viral Song.

The Like That singer will embark on her After Hours Til Dawn tour starting in July, although it’s unclear if her surgery will affect the launch in any way.
