Doja Cat has released a vicious new rap single ‘Attention’ along with a spooky music video – check them out below.
Attention is the Grammy Award-winner’s first solo album since the release of her third chart-topping studio album, 2021’s Planet Her. She has since released the Top 10 Billboard track Vegas Elvis soundtrack and featured in the remix for SZA’s #1 hit single “Kill Bill.”
Today (June 16) Doja Cat released “Attention,” a haunting song about her exit from The Weeknd’s “After Hours” stadium tour, rapping, “My taste is good, but I just had to switch up my cooking . / I.” could have been a prelude, I’m rerouting the booking.”
In May last year, Doja Cat had to cancel the tour due to a tonsillectomy.
She also opened up about rap heavyweights who “get in trouble” with artists who looked up to them: “I’m sorry, but we all find it really entertaining / Because we don’t want to see them post on their stage.” step forward.” Faces / And we all want to be the ones to see the devastation / Nothing in it, but isn’t the bad press good?”
Meanwhile, the music video directed by Tanu Muino reveals Doja Cat’s new character, Scarlet.
Doja’s use of the blood drop emoji in the announcement may provide some clues to the song buried in some of her other recent tweets. On May 24, she tweeted, “Scarlet was here.” Last Friday (June 9), she referenced the persona again, writing, “Scarlet is watching,” and then this Monday (June 11), she wrote, ” Let me heal, Scar is finally sealed.”
As of June 16, Doja Cat has deleted all but one of her tweets that read “Scarlet is here.”

“Attention” is available now through Kemosabe Records / RCA Records.
Last month, Doja Cat announced that she had changed the name of her forthcoming fourth album from Hellmouth to First Of All. In a recent Rolling Stone interview, the multi-hyphenated chart-topping star retired the name while discussing her forthcoming album, of which the lead single is “Attention.” “It’s not called ‘First of All’ anymore. I’ve been playing around with naming ideas for the album and have about eight to choose from,” she said.
“I will announce the correct title soon. I reconnected with the music I grew up with. Erykah Badu, John Coltrane, 90’s hip hop… the music that influenced me as a kid. I think my new music will provide some of that inspiration.”
She also said she’s called her last two studio albums “money heist” and “mediocre pop.”
