She claims the most recent incident occurred earlier this month.

Although the judge granted Deborah court-ordered protection from her son pending a permanent restraining order hearing, he did not grant it to Doja, ruling that she must file her own request for a restraining order.

Doja – real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini – was born in Los Angeles to Deborah, an American graphic designer of Jewish descent, and Dumisani Dlamini, a South African artist of Zulu descent.

In a 2021 profile in Rolling Stone magazine, Doja revealed that she and her brother were one of the few biracial children in their neighborhood and had experienced racism.

She said that when she was growing up, most of her friends were white and Jewish and that her brother always made fun of her because she had no black friends.

In the same interview, her former babysitter Alexis Haines revealed that Doja's brother's behavioral issues “took up a lot of space in that household.”
