Dolly Parton revealed she was offered to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show “multiple times” but always declined.
The 77-year-old country star explained that she decided not to perform on football’s biggest night because she “didn’t think I was big enough for such a big production.”
In an interview with published Thursday, she said: “I couldn’t do it for other reasons, or I just thought I wasn’t big enough to do it – to do such a big production.”
The 10-time Grammy winner, who shone in a Halloween dress at the ribbon cutting for her fashion show over the weekend, continued: “When you think about these shows, they’re big, big productions. “I’ve never done a production that big .
“I don’t know if I could have,” she added. “I think that’s what I thought at the time.”

Instead of a halftime show, she said she would consider doing a “production show” after the release of her first rock album, Rockstar, which will be released later this month on November 17.
“It would make more sense,” she explained, referring to the halftime show Usher will headline the upcoming Super Bowl show on February 11, 2024.
Since she’s set to release her rock ‘n’ roll album, she said she’s open to the idea of doing a bigger gig.
“That could change,” she said. “Maybe I can do a production show.”
While speaking to the outlet, she also revealed that she had previously turned down Elvis Presley when he wanted to record her hit song “I Will Always Love You.”
She also initially rejected induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because she didn’t feel fit as a country musician.
“You’re going to put me in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and someone like Meat Loaf or one of these other great artists never made it?” I didn’t want to take anything away from someone who had lived their life in this world the way I lived my life spent in the country [music]“,” she remembered thinking at the time.
She said she finally accepted when she learned that there were a variety of other artists in the Rock Hall due to the influence of her music around the world.

Her collaborations include: Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Sting, Joan Jett, Kid Rock, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Starr, Steven Tyler, Melissa Etheridge and more.
She also collaborated with Chris Stapleton, Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, Pink and Brandi Carlile on many of her rock songs.
