Bruins forward Milan Lucic was arrested on domestic violence charges in Boston early Saturday morning, according to multiple local media outlets.
The circumstances of the incident still need to be clarified.
The Bruins organization issued a press release early Saturday indicating that the 35-year-old skater will be leaving the team’s roster indefinitely.
“The Bruins were made aware of an incident involving Milan Lucic on Friday evening,” the press release said.
“The organization takes these matters very seriously and we will work with the Lucic family to provide them with any support and assistance they may need. We have no further comment to make on this matter.”
The tough guy has been on the long-term injured list since late October with ankle problems and has only played four games this season.
The Bruins face the Canadiens in Boston tonight.
