Likewise, the meteorological establishment reported that the center of the depression is about 2,230 meters east of the Leeward Islands.

According to Onamet, the low pressure area is moving west at about 33 kilometers per hour and is expected to continue this movement in the coming days. So far, the maximum continuous winds have been around 55 kilometers per hour with stronger gusts, so that an increase is predicted in the coming days.

In his meteorological warning, Onamet stated that the organism had assumed the category of a depression, with an estimated minimum central pressure of 1,009 millibars.

The meteorological portfolio envisages cloudy developments with locally moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and gusts of wind, particularly towards the northwest, southwest, northeast, central cordillera and border areas.

Onamet is forecasting a similar meteorological pattern for Tuesday, expecting passenger showers beginning in the early hours with possible thunderstorms towards the Caribbean coast and the northeast of the country due to wind-borne humidity.

“Due to the unusual waves off the Caribbean coast, operators of fragile and small vessels are advised to sail close to the shoreline and not venture offshore, from Isla Beata (Pedernales) to Punta Águilas (Pedernales),” he added added . the onamet.
