Malone seemed shocked to see the photographers waiting outside the restaurant, while Lemon seemed a bit irritated.

Malone’s parents were just a few steps behind him and didn’t seem to notice as Joanne Richard pointed to something off-camera.

Joanne sported a style similar to Lemon and her son, while Richard opted for dark tones, wearing a black sweater and jeans.

Before Lemon broke up, he took a moment to hug Joanne before getting into his vehicle.

Lemon was spectacularly fired from CNN on Monday amid controversy over his “sexist” and “misogynistic” behavior – and now a source has revealed the toll his sacking has had on their relationship.

spoke exclusively to a friend of Tim’s, who said the scandal had “definitely been a stumbling block” for the couple – especially since Lemon had been warned by his fiancée to “cool down” his on-air rants.

“He’s often told Don to take it easy and go with the flow, but Don’s just not the type of person to listen,” the source revealed. “He pushes the boundaries in every facet of his life and this show was no different.”

In February, Don went too far when he said that presidential candidate Nikki Haley was “past her prime” at age 51, before claiming that “a woman in her 20’s, 30’s and maybe 40’s has reached her prime.” ‘ – prompted his stunned co-hosts to google it.

The sexist remark, which led to 41-year-old co-host Poppy Harlow storming the set, kept Don from airing for three days and sparked a tidal wave of backlash – particularly from female staff who supported his firing demanded.

Though Don’s resignation has caused tensions between him and his partner, the insider adds that Tim remains loyal to the former CNN host and “knows he’s not misogynistic.”

The source continued: “[Tim] says that [Don] is just plain gay and has a very dry, harsh and sarcastic sense of humor.”

In fact, after getting over the shock of Don’s firing, the pair began to get “excited” at the prospect of more time together, the insider shared.

“To be honest they’re actually pretty excited that Don now gets to be home with their dogs because their dogs are their life,” the pal shared. “Tim said that Don can now play houseman.”

“Tim says Don wasn’t happy there for a while and worked to the bone. “This is a much-needed break for him.”

Don and Tim got engaged five years ago, in April 2019. Tim proposed to Don on his own birthday with dog tags worn by their beloved dogs, Barkley and Boomer. The words “Dad, do you want to marry Daddy?” were engraved on the pendants.

The couple can certainly afford for Don to take a break from his on-air career; Page Six reported that the ex-host left CNN with a “$25 million payout” and that if he decides to file a lawsuit against the network over his firing, he’s “tuned in” have.

A source told the broadcaster, “Don landed a high seven-figure deal for the morning show last September and CNN has assured him he will receive the remainder of his contract, which runs until 2026.”

spoke to a second source who works with Don’s longtime fiance in New York City real estate – who said the many millions Don ends up making are actually irrelevant to Tim, who has made millions of his own over the years are.

“It won’t do them any financial harm at all,” says the housing insider. “Tim is an incredibly rich man who has made millions from real estate.”

“He’s one of the best in town and they’ve saved up enough money to last for years.”

The industry source added, “Even if Don never went back to work, Tim would be able to support her financially and be comfortable,” the source said.

“He wants Don to take some time off and relax because anyone who knows him knows he’s been very tense for the past few months.”

“He’s not a villain; “He just says what the hell he wants, both on and off work, and is used to getting his way.”
