The former US President, who wants to return to the White House in 2024, is already pointing out what he sees as irregularities in these midterm elections on social networks.
He is already denouncing anomalies in certain states. Donald Trump reacted to the midterm elections taking place in the United States this Tuesday on his social network Truth Social. While initial polling stations are closed in some states but many Americans are still voting, the former White House tenant is not waiting to address what he calls irregularities.
“Some of Arizona’s voting machines don’t work in conservative Republican areas. It happens again? People won’t take it!” the former Republican president wrote on his social network.
Donald Trump is referring here to technical issues encountered with certain machines in Maricopa County, Arizona. “Approximately 20 percent” of the 223 polling stations have “a problem” with the machines that read ballots, said Bill Gates, director of the body that governs the region, on Twitter.
Targeting the states of Pennsylvania and Michigan
“Pennsylvania has just announced that it will take several days to determine the winner,” wrote Donald Trump, describing this situation in this state, where the results are likely to be close, as “scandalous”.
Finally, Donald Trump also called on his supporters to “protest” after claiming that some voters in the city of Detroit, Michigan, could not vote at their polling station. A statement that prompted a reaction from the Michigan Secretary of State on Twitter: “It’s not true. Do not spread lies to encourage political violence in our state or anywhere else.”
A response that doesn’t risk curbing the billionaire’s ambitions, however, chose to regain power. In an interview with Business Insider that aired Tuesday, Donald Trump said he should “get all the credit” if the Republican Party wins and “not be blamed” if his side loses in these midterm elections.
