A Donald Trump “angrier than ever” returned to campaign rallies Saturday (1/28/2023) hoping to advance his candidacy for the White House with a speech in key state New Hampshire before traveling to South Carolina.
Two and a half months after announcing his candidacy for the 2024 elections, the former US President has left the gilded halls of his Florida residence for visits that have nothing to do with chance. New Hampshire and South Carolina will be among the first to host Republican primaries in early 2024. A win would give Trump a valuable and much-needed boost going forward.
“We need a leader who is willing to face the forces that are sweeping our country,” the tycoon said in front of several hundred in the small town of Salem, but – after ruling in the Grand Old Party for years like them Republican Trump (76) will not necessarily stand on conquered ground.
The ex-president’s allegations
Trump reaffirmed Saturday that he had the 2020 election stolen from him, while not skimping on derogatory nicknames for his rivals. He also touted his achievements in the areas of public safety and immigration, and vowed to save the country “from destruction at the hands of a corrupt, radical and self-serving political establishment.” He explained, “Today I am more angry and determined than ever.”
Trump, who is the subject of multiple court investigations, may have these setbacks as the biggest obstacle to his nomination. “They are left-wing prosecutors who are absolutely horrible people,” he argued.
Despite these setbacks, his supporters warn against a quick burial for Trump. His downfall has been announced a thousand times, but so far he has weathered all the scandals. Additionally, it could benefit from the impending unbanning of its Facebook and Instagram accounts and find a formidable megaphone there.
