They are the new ignorant actors in American politics. Their responsibility is immense, their decisions momentous. Judges are responsible for the state or local investigation of Donald Trump, the four-time indictee and big favorite in the Republican primary, and have one key power: control of the calendar. On Monday, August 28, in Washington, Judge Tanya Chutkan expressed her desire not to drag herself out. She denied the requests of the former president’s attorneys in the Jan. 6, 2021 directive and an attempt to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power. Iowa and New Hampshire will open official competition beginning in mid-January 2024. Then the second defamation lawsuit filed by former press columnist E. Jean Carroll against Donald Trump will open. A jury in New York ruled in May that the ex-president was responsible for a sexual assault committed against him in 1996 and had to pay him $5 million.
